Today we are going to talk about the Philippines independence Day.
Philippines Independence Day is a national holiday for the Philippines that happens every year on June 12th when they celebrate the declaration from Spain.

They eat Chicken Adobo, Spicy Beef Stew and Leche Flan. The reason why it starts on June 12th is that it was the day when they marked the independence from the Spanish rule in 1898. The activity they do in Philippine independence day is visit museums, do cultural plays and concerts.

During Hurumanu Drama I and my class were learning about freeze frame. A freeze-frame is like a pause but you freeze from the actions you're doing, almost like a picture of you eating, running or talking. I and my class were placed in a group of six.

-What is Arbor Day?

Arbor Day is a holiday when groups are inspired to plant trees, people today all over the country have been intending this sort of event.

-Why is this important for the Nes/National Environment?

Arbor Day is important for the National Environment because it is a special holiday for everyone to recognize the importance of trees, the most common way how everyone celebrates this holiday is to get into groups and plant trees.

-What some ways we see Hornby high school helping with Arbors Day/Environment?

-They help out the environment by picking up rubbish

Ways to prevent and do in Hygiene and Safety

1. Leaving your food on the floor or on your hands can cause bacteria

2. Bacteria can come from dirty hands, nails, cloths or open cuts.

3. Bad food storage can also cause bacteria.

4. Good food storage needs to have all food stored in separately.

Our New Kahui space

Our New Kahui Space

Last year in 2019 on the very last term we had a new Kahui 

Space/Classroom that was just finished, each class were taken a 

tour in the building, it had stairs, a laboratory and a room for each class. 

They made three of the buildings for each class such as for ESOL, science and drama. Each of the building also has a tv, a restroom and a fan.

Nearby the new buildings, they also made new fields such as a basketball court and also added a shade around the field.
