Method: How to make dirty water:
- Use a 250mL beaker to get 200mL of water.
- Add 2 spoonfuls of dirt.
- Add 10mL of oil.
- Add a spoonful of pebbles
- Stir it for 2 minutes.
- Label a piece of paper with your names and place it under your beaker.
- Take a photo of your experiment.
- Mix the dirty water for one minute.
- Get a measuring cylinder and measure 100ml of your dirty water in another beaker.
- Add 100mL of water in the beaker where you poured in 100mL of your dirty water.
- Mix it for two minutes.
- Pour out your original 100mL of dirty water.
- Repeat what you did during step 2 to step 5.
- Take a photo of your experiment.
- Groups require a retort stand, two clamps, two funnels, one piece of filter paper, and cloth.
- Prepare and set up the clamps as the demo is.
- You and your group must decide how to arrange a filtration setup.
- Leave beside your dirty water for now.
- Take a photo of your filtration setup.
- Make sure your funnel is ready and both are lined up properly.
- Slowly pour your dirty water into the cloth funnel.
- Check on it every five minutes or so.
